Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF delegation expressed satisfaction with the high rate of economic growth in Serbia during the first eight months and also with the reduced budgetary deficit.
Appropriate measures need to be taken so as to reduce Serbia’s trade deficit, the IMF officials said.
The Serbian government is resolute to pursue with economic reforms and harmonisation of its economic system with that of the European Union (EU). The government will consider all IMF’s recommendations, the Serbian Prime Minister said.
