Anti-discrimination law adopted

The Serbian government today adopted the law against discrimination, which defines types of discrimination and measures to be taken against pit.
According to this law, the government will establish an independent body for the protection of equality.
The government today forwarded to the parliament all bills necessary for Serbia’s inclusion in the Schengen “white list”.
The bill on the register of people, households and flats for 2011 was also adopted at today’s session.
The government demanded that an extraordinary parliamentary session is held to discuss 15 bills concerning ecology, as they are of importance for Serbia’s EU integration.
The government today adopted decrees on the protection of children with disabilities, the national breast cancer prevention programme and the protection of companies whose property has been left in the former Yugoslav republics.
The government also agreed that the Commodity Reserves Directorate should purchase 300 tonnes of domestic milk powder.
