Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic briefed the council members about the government’s programme of measures, whose basic goal is to help the economy to overcome the crisis and preserve human and physical capital until the new expansion.
The specific goals of these measures are to ensure the liquidity of the real sector, reduce operating costs to maintain the current level of business activities, maintain the current number of jobs with the possibility of creating new ones, ensure business competitiveness in order to keep exporting to existing markets as well as enter new ones and synchronise resources, institutions and the criteria according to which funds will be provided for loans and other types of financial encouragement.
Prime Minister Cvetkovic stressed that the programme of measures will be regularly monitored, stressing that its successful implementation may lead to increased volume of funds for its further realisation.
Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic informed the council that another package of measures is underway which should help protect the most vulnerable categories of population during the crisis, adding that it will also be debated at a council session.
Social partners agreed that continued control of the implementation of these measures, as well as adjustment to new conditions, is crucial for the success of these measures.
