According to the statement issued by the Health Ministry, those diagnosed with the disease have been instructed to report to the Institute for Infectious and Tropical Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Serbia.
One patient has been hospitalised because of pneumonia and the patient’s general condition is stable.
None of Serbian handball players have been infected with Legionellosis.
Legionellosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria. Patients with “Legionnaires' disease” usually have fever, chills and a cough, which may be dry or may produce sputum. Some patients also have muscle aches, headache, tiredness and occasionally diarrhea and vomiting.
