Motorway tolls for Serbian, foreign vehicles to be equal

Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic today said that the government will adopt a decision concerning the levelling of motorway tolls for Serbian and foreign vehicles at its next session, scheduled for February 5.

In a statement to the Beta news agency, Mrkonjic said that this agreement will solve the problems of 150 Serbian truck drivers who are not allowed to pass through Greece.
Minister Mrkonjic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic and Minister Mladjan Dinkic have already agreed to level the motorway tolls for domestic and foreign vehicles, which has been demanded by Greece ever since 2002.
Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, currently visiting Belgrade, will be informed in this respect.
A toll for domestic buses and trucks at the motorway section from Belgrade to Nis is equivalent to €22 against € 39 for the foreign ones.
A toll for Serbian freight forwarders is RSD 4,390 (approx €45) and €77 for the foreign ones.
