State Secretary of the Defence Ministry Zoran Jeftic said that preparing civilians for emergency situations is a need in every country and Serbia is about to define their institutional framework for emergencies.

Emergency situations include technical and technological accidents as well as natural disasters, he said.
Head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia Hans Ola Urstad said that every country should be prepared for the worst, as emergency situations are unpredictable.
A two-day conference, called “Emergency Situations”, was supported by the OSCE Mission, with participants from seven countries and experts from Norway, Germany and the EU taking part.
