Government adopts bill on civil procedure

The Serbian government adopted at its session today a bill on the civil procedure and forwarded it to the Serbian parliament for immediate discussion.
The bill on the civil procedure is fully harmonised with the Council of Europe's Convention for Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. It is one of the systematic laws that should boost the efficiency of courts, allowing for an expedition of court proceedings. The legal solutions proposed tighten the discipline in the court proceedings and efficiently impede their prolongation.
The government examined a project for permanent integration of refugees in Serbia, proposed by the Serbian Commissariat for Refugees.
Petar Ladjevic was appointed Secretary of the Serbian National Minorities Council. Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will schedule the Council's inaugural session next week.
At today's session, the government decided to approve the bank guarantee for debt settlement agreement to be concluded between the public company NIS Oil Industry of Serbia and Sinochem International Oil Company Limited from London together with the Sinochem Corporation from Beijing.
The government approved funds from the state budget for the payment of frozen hard currency savings.
The government adopted changes to the programme of distribution and use of subsidies in the field of agriculture, forestry and water management for 2004. Changes to the agreement on transfer of loan funds and responsibilities for the realisation of the project of traffic reconstruction in Serbia were also adopted.
