Djelic, who presided over the session, said in a statement to the Tanjug news agency that this is the biggest ever sports event to be held in Serbia and that organisation will be at a top level.
He said RSD 2.4 billion is intended for purchasing the various goods necessary for holding the event, in which representatives of 140 countries will participate, adding that these public purchases will be a great opportunity for the Serbian economy.
Volunteer work at the Universiade will be of great benefit to our students and we will recommend university representatives to make new timetables for exams and to award grades to all those who opt for volunteer work, said Djelic.
Speaking about the announcement that students will have to leave their hostels by June 20 because of the Universiade, Djelic said that temporary accommodation has been arranged for them and that all students will have a place to stay during the event.
