Serbia, Italy mark 130 years of diplomatic relations

Minister of Trade and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic will take part in a celebration “Serbia–Italy“, to be held in Rome on January 20–23, marking 130 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ministry says in a statement that the event is organised by the Serbian embassy in Rome and the Mediterranean Union’s Centre for Strategic Studies. Main topics will be foreign policy and Serbia’s European future, as well as economic and cultural cooperation and political and military issues.
On January 21 Minister Milosavljevic will present possibilities for improving economic cooperation between Serbia and Italy.
Italy is one of Serbia’s key foreign trade partners and the sixth highest direct investor in Serbia. In the period 2000–2008 Italian companies invested around $680 million in the Serbian economy, adds the statement.
