Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic stated today that a public debate on the draft law on planning and contruction should be finished by the end of January and that MPs should discuss it in March.
Dulic stated that a systemic construction law will attract more foreign investments and make the work of the administration faster.
He expressed his assurance that a strict application of this law would be a serious and important step forward and announced that the Ministry will insist that this law is applied.
Dulic said that a new law will simplify the procedure for the issuance of building licences and prevent corruption and pointed to the Serbia’s very low ranking in the world concerning the issuance of building licences, adding that investors have to wait approximately 204 days.
Chairman of the Vojvodina Executive Council Nebojsa Pajtic said that this law is a precondition for the further development of society.
Foreign investors in Vojvodina can acquire building licences in a fairly short period of time and are sure that they are in accordance with general and spatial plans and therefore there are many more investments in Vojvodina than in other parts of the country, concluded Pajtic.
