According to the statement, during his stay Jeremic will meet with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt and secretary of the Social Democratic Party Marita Ulvskog.
In a statement to FoNet news agency, from Stockholm, Jeremic said that the purpose of the visit is to establish cooperation with countries that support Serbia’s EU integration.
He said that this will help deal with the situation created by the Netherlands’ refusal to give a green light to Serbia’s EU integration process.
Jeremic said that a meeting will be held with EU representatives on January 26 to discuss Serbia’s European future.
He stressed that as part of preparations for this meeting he will hold talks with the foreign ministers of Sweden, Slovenia, France and Italy.
In 2009 we must be active and firm and take strategically important steps for the future of Serbia and the entire West Balkans, said Jeremic.
