Mrakic told Tanjug that 4.6 million cubic metres of gas was provided today and added that the government’s crisis response team is taking measures to reduce the burden on the energy system.
We have been trying to secure gas from other countries, but so far we have not been given any guarantees, he said, explaining that Serbia’s agreement with Austria on gas delivery lasts until January 16, if there is a need for more gas.
Mrakic noted that Ukraine has not sent any gas to Europe today, adding that this afternoon Russia stopped the deliveries intended for Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia and other European countries.
This morning Gazprom ordered that 76.6 million cubic metres of gas per day be sent again to Ukraine through the Sudza gas station, in order to ensure delivery for consumers in Turkey and Moldova.
However, gas stopped arriving to Ukraine in the afternoon because Kiev did not open the main pipe line, through which the gas to Europe, released in the morning, should have passed.
