Serbian President Boris Tadic said this evening that agreement has been reached with the German government concerning the delivery of 3 million cubic metres of gas daily which will improve the energy situation in Serbia considerably.
Speaking in an interview with the Radio Television of Serbia Tadic said that he hopes that gas supply to district heating plants will be stabilized very soon.
The President stressed that negotiations are going on with Russia to secure more gas within 24 hours which will ensure stable gas supply to households.
He said that he hopes that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will be resolved soon, stressing that the Serbian government is ready to respond to the crisis.
The President asked the citizens to save electricity, adding that there are lessons to be learnt from this situation which will help the country be better prepared to deal with similar problems in the future.
