The government adopted the decision on obligatory replacement of natural gas with other energy sources for all consumers that are capable of such.
In order to ensure the functioning of remote heating systems and thermal energy power plants, the Serbian oil industry will deliver the regular supply of heavy fuel oil.
The government has asked that all entities transporting oil derivatives by rivers, roads and railroads ensure adequate transport of sufficient amounts of heavy fuel oil.
Because of the anticipated increase in electric energy consumption, the government has ordered the Serbian electric power industry Elektroprivreda Srbije to import additional amounts of electricity should the need arise.
The crisis response team, coordinated by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, is in constant session and has agreed that there is enough heavy fuel oil at the moment and that the electric energy supply is also at a sufficient level. The response team called upon citizens to save as much energy as they can in order to surmount the difficulties caused by the suspended gas delivery.
