Kosovo issue, relations with Russia as Serbia’s priorities

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic today stated that Serbia’s strategic goal is to join the EU but bilateral relations with Russia will always be of top importance for Serbia.
At a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Konuzin, Jeremic pointed out that Serbia considers Russia as its closest friend.
The Minister added that the Kosovo issue and Serbia’s relation to Russia will always be the government’s main priorities.
Jeremic said that effort Russia and Serbia is investing in the gas deal actually show the strength of the relations between the two countries.
Konuzin also pointed to the effort Serbian and Russian diplomats put into the gas deal, which is soon to be implemented.
When it comes to many international issues, Russia feels a brotherly support to Serbs. I wish you to leave behind all your troubles from 2008 and to have a lot of success in the New Year, the Ambassador said.
