Milosavljevic said that RSD 5 billion has been provided for 700,000 people without income.
He noted that 33% of the Ministry’s budget will be used for preventive care, while around 40% will be used to improve medical care.
RSD 3.6 billion will be used for contributions towards people without any income, he explained.
The Ministry’s total budget, loans included, is a little over RSD 12.3 billion, said the Minister, announcing that next year the Ministry’s expenditure will be reduced by 5% or 15%.
Milosavljevic said that next year the Ministry will not procure new vehicles for the inspectorate and will save on office supplies and on an everyday basis as much as possible.
He stressed that the Ministry’s budget includes funds for programmes and all planned programmes will be implemented, adding that plans will be reduced to an acceptable degree in accordance with the available funds.
The Minister emphasised that the only way to hire young doctors next year will be on the basis of the decree on additional work, recalling that when the government adopted the budget for 2009 it also adopted memorandums for 2010 and 2011 which contain macroeconomic projections.
