Ministry of Defence holds New Year’s reception

The Serbian Ministry of Defence last night held a reception on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas holidays.
Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac said that 2008 saw many challenges to security due to the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija and voiced his pleasure at the fact that no harm was done to Serbian citizens.
He said that 2009 will be full of challenges in the economic sense, adding that the Ministry of Defence will continue to professionalise the army.
Members of the Serbian government, the Security and Intelligence Agency and Serbian Orthodox Church were present at the reception, as well as ambassadors, military attaches accredited in Belgrade and media representatives.
