Cvetkovic said that the state will completely support business people to overcome the financial and economic crisis more easily, noting that the government is preparing an appropriate programme for that.
The Prime Minister said that the proposed restrictive and stimulative budget is restrictive for the state and stimulative for the economy.
We need solidarity and togetherness, as all social groups will participate in this programme, Cvetkovic said, adding that everyone will have to take a part of the burden, and not jeopardise others with their demands.
Milosavljevic said that the "Best of Serbia" action comes at the right moment as the Serbian economy needs to modernise its approach to the market and improve marketing activities, which are currently one of the most critical factors in the competitiveness of Serbian companies.
He pointed out that Serbian brands are not yet developed enough, although there are some companies which are bright examples, having already started conquering markets in the region and elsewhere in the world.
He noted that the final goal of the action is to estimate the potential of companies and then promote them on the global market.
Milosavljevic announced that the Ministry will continue to support industry leaders during this period of transition as Serbia should be the country of strong economy and health food.
The awards were organised for the fifth time by the Ministry of Trade and Services, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Privredni Pregled daily.
The award for best brand went to Apatin brewery for its Jelen beer, while Bambi Banat won the corporate award for its Bambi brand.
In the category of durable consumer goods the prize went to Sabac Farmakom for its Black Horse batteries, while Simpo from Vranje won in the corporate brand category.
In the production goods category the prize went to the Novi Sad Institute for Farming for their seed brand NS, while the best corporate brand is NIS.
In the innovations category the Sigura tyre, produced Tigar Tyres, was chosen, while Trijumf wine from Topola’s Aleksandrovic was the best local brand. Messer Tehnogas was best amongst the foreign companies operating in Serbia.
Consumers said that Coca-Cola, by Coca-Cola Hellenic Zemun was the best product and that MTS Telekom Srbije was the best service provider.
The statue for best promoter of Serbia went to tennis player Novak Djokovic, Knjaz Milos won the five-year award and the special award was given to the Zoran Djindjic Fund.
