Government adopts 2009 budget

The Serbian government today adopted the budget law for 2009 and forwarded it to parliament as urgent procedure.
The 2009 budget projects revenues of RSD 698.7 billion, expenditures of RSD 748.3 billion and a deficit of RSD 49.6 billion.
The government also adopted a revised Memorandum on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy for 2009, which also includes projections for 2010 and 2011.
At today's session bills amending laws on taxes and excise duty were also adopted and forwarded to parliament.
The government adopted the law on the use of official vehicles, which states that these vehicles can only be used by the Serbian President, the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Speaker, the presidents of the State Court and the Supreme Court, deputy prime ministers, ministers, the Deputy Parliamentary Speaker, the Parliamentary Secretary and the State Secretary. State officials will also have the right to use official vehicles when necessary.
Bills were also adopted concerning customs and state assistance controls as well as bills amending laws on expropriation, criminal proceedings and lawsuit procedure.
