Speaking at a graduation ceremony held at the Sremska Kamenica police training centre, Dacic said that another goal is to implement international standards and European work ethics in everyday police work.
He congratulated the young men and women who finished their training at the centre and wished them success in their work and to be a credit to their country, families and the Interior Ministry.
Dacic said that the Interior Ministry had strengthened its personnel with this first class of graduate police officers, who will begin work from December 8, adding that the Ministry must fight for a better social status for members of the police force.
He said that there cannot be a strong Serbia without a strong army and police force and expressed gratitude to the OSCE mission for supporting police education reforms and reforms within the entire Interior Ministry.
Speaking to the press after the graduation ceremony, Dacic said that he expects that an agreement concerning economic relations between Serbia and Russia will be signed with
the Russian economic delegation that is visiting Belgrade today.
He said that negotiations concerning the energy agreement between Serbia and Russia are being led by the government and the Serbian President, adding that he expects that talks will lead to the realisation of the agreement.
Dacic recommended that a social pact should be made to safeguard Serbia’s financial system, adding that everyone should be aware of the situation the country is in.
He said that the government is working on the new transport law and the Interior Ministry would like to see this law being adopted as soon as possible.
Representative of the OSCE mission in Serbia Tor Tanke Holm said that the mission and the Interior Ministry began the police education reform four years ago and the implementation of new regulations has not been completed yet.
He praised the young women and men who finished their training, adding that the OSCE mission in Serbia will continue to support the Interior Ministry.
According to a decision by Dacic, special rewards were presented to the best four students and top student Vladan Dimitrijevic was presented with a laptop.
The ceremony was attended by friends and families of the students.
