The agreement was signed by Head of the European Commission Delegation to Serbia Josep Lloveras and Rector of Novi Sad University Radmila Marinkovic-Neducin.
Delevic said that the opening of this centre is particularly important and expressed hope more such centres will be opened soon.
We need the centres to help us join the EU more easily, as well as in order to acquaint our citizens with what the EU integration process is all about, said Delevic.
Lloveras said that the goal of the information centres is to improve research on the EU and enable citizens and students to participate in the debate on the EU, adding that another centre will soon be opened at Belgrade University.
He explained that the information centre in Novi Sad will inform citizens about the EU, its work and objectives, adding that students will also be able to inquire about grants for their master’s degrees.
All of this is aimed at bringing Serbia closer to the EU, he stressed, adding that information about other countries’ experiences will now be available at the information centre.
Marinkovic-Neducin said that Novi Sad University has always cherished the values and standards of European universities.
According to her, the centre is a new opportunity for students and teachers at the Novi Sad University to get acquainted with European standards in teaching.
