The agreement was signed by representatives of Sabac, Bor, Smederevo, Cacak, Barajevo, Valdicin Han, Vlasotince and other cities and municipalities. The signing of the agreement was attended by Assistant Minister of Labour and Social Policy Miroslav Brkic, State Secretary at the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights Ivan Bulatovic, head of the UNDP team for inclusive development Danilo Vukovic and project coordinator Stanimir Jovanovic-Slavinski.
Since last year 10 Roma coordinators have joined the programme and been given micro grants for implementing action plans for the Roma. This year 18 more coordinators joined the programme, whose work is being financed by the Labour Ministry.
The action plans were approved by the Serbian government and they concern employment, health, education and housing. The plans will also be implemented at a local level from this year.
The “Reducing Roman Endangerment in Serbia” programme is being implemented by the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the UNDP.
