Serbia, Montenegro reach consensus regarding dual citizenship

Serbia’s Interior Ministry stated that the Serbian and Montenegrin delegations reached consensus on the definition of dual citizenship at today’s negotiations. The definition determines categories of citizens who will be eligible for dual citizenship.
A certain number of controversial questions, which members of the Montenegrin delegation sought time to consult with their officials at today’s meeting in Belgrade, will be discussed at the next meeting, due to be held at the end of November in Montenegro.
It is realistic to expect that negotiations will be concluded successfully and an agreement on dual citizenship will be signed very soon.
