Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with European Commission Director for Western Balkans Reinhard Priebe and Adviser to the EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Stefan Lehne on continuation of the association and stabilisation process with the EU following the latest recommendation of the EU Council of Ministers.
The EU officials presented the Prime Minister with the next steps that the EU will take toward faster more efficient launch of negotiations between Serbia-Montenegro and EU on the stablisation and association agreement.
They said that the proposals will be presented by early October. They will include complete respect of the Constitutional Charter as well as reaching a necessary level of the two republics’ economic systems.
Kostunica expressed satisfaction with the EU’s interest in preserving the state union.
