Ljajic told the press that Brammertz’s report on Serbia’s cooperation with the Hague tribunal, which the Prosecutor will present to the UN Security Council on December 12, will comprise neither positive nor negative assessments.
He explained that the report cannot be positive since Ratko Mladic is not in the Hague yet, nor can it be negative because the Chief Prosecutor is aware of the credibility of Serbia’s activities and the political will to track him down.
Ljajic said that the Brammertz’s report may yet be altered until December 12 and voiced hope that he will monitor Serbia’s activities and include them in his report.
According to him if the Hague indictees Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic are not arrested before December 12, Serbia will have to intensify its activities in this respect.
Ljajic stressed that at yesterday’s meeting Brammertz did not set a deadline for the arrest of the Hague indictees.
