Application of candidates for Anti-Corruption Agency board

The Ministry of Justice today reminded relevant authorities and institutions that they are to recommend their candidates for the Anti-Corruption Agency board to the Serbian parliament within 30 days after the law on the anti-corruption agency comes into force.
The Ministry stated that the law came into force on November 4, 2008 and the Serbian parliament will choose the members of the agencies’ board.
They will be chosen at the recommendation of the Serbian parliament’s administrative board, the Serbian President, the Serbian government, the Supreme Court of Cassation, the State Auditing Institution, the Ombudsman and the Trustee for Information of Public Interest, the Social-Economic Council, the Serbian Bar Chamber, Serbian journalists associations and the Serbian Supreme Court.
According to Article 79, the deadline expires on December 4, 2008
