Diaspora Ministry, JTI sign cooperation agreement

Serbian Minister for the Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic and Japan Tobacco International Company (JTI) Director General for the Western Balkans Cristian Cring signed today an agreement on cooperation, which is part of the Ministry’s project for enabling the return of young Serbian experts living abroad.

According to a statement issued by the Diaspora Ministry, the agreement was signed at the Careers Fair 08 and Sreckovic said at the occasion that young and educated Serbs living abroad must be sent a positive signal that things are improving in Serbia and their country can offer them a future.

Their expertise is of great value for Serbia, it is in Serbia’s interest that these young people return and JTI has shown the willingness to support our initiative, said the Minister.

Cring said that the company believes that Serbia is a country with a future and its main potential is its young, educated, skilled people.

He said that JTI is pleased to continue cooperation with the Diaspora Ministry because they share the same goals, the determination to develop potential, investment in education and professionals and personal progress.

The Ministry, in cooperation with the Foreign Investors Council, helped further the careers of young Serbs living abroad by making it possible for them to work for JTI during July and August this year, and it is planned that four young people will be able to gain valuable work experience next year.
