Dulic, who is participating in the “60 Years of Achievements – Future Challenges” conference in Jerusalem, said that Serbia had increased international cooperation over energy use and promised to meet EU standards.
He stated that the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning will focus on the development and promotion of renewable sources of energy, in order to help reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and the import and production of other energy forms damaging to the environment.
The goals include increasing energy efficiency, promotion of renewable sources of energy and harmonisation of the national judiciary regarding natural resources, waste management and air quality control, he said.
Dulic announced that a law on a more rational use of energy should be completed by mid-2009.
He said that Serbia will have enough water for its own needs if the water resources are used reasonably and protected from pollution.
He repeated that the water supply and water distilling systems are also priorities.
