In a statement made to the news agency Tanjug following the three day
Serbian Trade Fair in the Russian city of Krasnodar, Milosavljevic said that the retail chains interested in Serbian products are Magnit, Lenta and Okej.
He said talks with Magnit also included discussion about the company’s arrival in Serbia, but Magnit representatives said that they have no plans to expand beyond Russia for the next 15 years, since they are barely able to meet the demands of the Russian market despite annual investments of more than €600 million.
It was agreed however that Serbian factories can produce their brands and they will buy Serbian products, said the Minister adding that Magnit is the second largest retail chain in Russia with 60,000 employees and 2,400 retail stores.
According to him, serious talks were held with representatives of Lenta, which sells food products as well as industrial, textile and leather products.
Milosavljevic stressed that the Krasnodar exhibition resulted in concrete deals, including the one between the Institute for Farming in Novi Sad and Institute for Corn in Zemun Polje, adding that the ceramic heaters manufacturer ZM DIN sold all its products offered for sale at the exhibition.
He stressed that construction firms had a lot of success, like road company Putevi Uzice that may bid for a big project worth €12 million.
The Minister commended the organisation of the exhibition as it was difficult to set it up in the city centre.
