The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management stated today that Head of the Unit for Pre-accession assistance to agriculture and rural development at the EU Directorate-General for Agricultural and Rural Development Kaj Mortensen will visit Serbia with his associates from November 12 to 14, to make an assessment of Serbia’s ability for using EU pre-accession funds.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, the EU functionary will assess the present situation and administrative and legislative capabilities at ministerial level.
Representatives of the European Commission and the Ministry will examine the present situation in the agriculture sector and rural development as well as strategic documents necessary for making institutional changes to the agro-economic system.
The Ministry of Agriculture will thus establish a dialogue with the relevant bodies of the European Commission which define measures required for the effective use of EU funds intended for improving Serbia’s agriculture sector.
