The Serbian government today adopted, as part of measures to alleviate the effects of the global economic crisis, a bill amending the law on deposit insurance, under which deposits of private persons, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses will be insured up to the amounts of €50,000.

The government recommended that Srbijagas divides its monthly charges for gas into two parts, the first part making up 62.5%, the remaining 37.5% to be paid off six months after the first part.
The Ministry of Energy and Mining in cooperation with Srbijagas and the Serbian Energy Agency is obliged to specify elements important for determining gas prices, to make an analysis of gas distributor’s profit margins and operating costs, and to establish the volume of domestic production in order to keep gas prices as low as possible
At today’s session, the government adopted several decrees such as the amendment on the procedure for restructuring privatization, the sale of assets by public tender and on sale of assets through public auction.
The government approved the training of a working group for drafting laws on the classification of personal information and protection of personal privacy.
