Milosavljevic told the ceremony that Serbia’s recovery is dependent upon maintaining the health of it is citizens, fighting against disease and having a clear vision of what this entails.
Radosavljevic pointed out that for the first time in 63 years, 28,561 doctors in Serbia will need to obtain work licences and added that said licences will be obligatory.
The ceremony was also attended by Serbian President Boris Tadic, who stated that the principle of the medical profession is to help everyone at any time, which must become a universal principle so that the society we live in becomes humane and civilised.
To be a doctor means to resist temptation and the belief that the one who helps is above the one who needs help, Tadic said, also noting that politicians also must recognise this in their duties..
He said politicians in Serbia should respect the values and laws that doctors take when swearing the Hippocratic Oath.
The President handed over the first 10 licences, including one for Minister Milosavljevic.
