Predrag Bubalo
Bubalo told the Tanjug news agency that he has made a number of contacts with Chinese and other foreign officials, including Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Wu Yi, and that he has invited them to visit Serbia-Montenegro.
Bubalo also said that he discussed opportunities to boost trade between Serbia and Mexico with Mexican Minister of Economy Fernando Canales-Clariond. He also met with the Macedonian Trade Minister to talk about privatisation.
“I met with the Chinese Deputy Minister for Development and Reform to discuss possibilities to improve economic cooperation through the resolution of existing problems, such as Serbia-Montenegro’s debts and the foreign trade gap, but also through frequent contacts between the two countries’ businesspeople,” said Bubalo.
According to him, the Serbian delegation also conducted a successful presentation of investment opportunities in Serbia.
Bubalo also met with the Chinese Foreign Minister to discuss ways to improve cooperation between the two countries, particularly when it comes to Chinese investment in Serbia.
“This is very important given that China has invested more than $33 billion in foreign countries over the past few years,” said Bubalo.
The delegation also met with representatives of the Chinese firm Sinochem and discussed various forms of cooperation, boosting Serbia’s presence in the Chinese market, and participation of Sinochem in Serbia’s privatisation.
Sinochem has already launched the promotion of Serbian products, with first batches of wine already on their way to China, noted Bubalo, adding that Serbia will soon deliver more goods to China.
The delegation will stay in China until September 12.
