Osiatynski said the Millennium Goals, which include the reduction of poverty and hunger, improvement of education and health systems, environmental protection, and faster economic growth, have become an obligation for the governments of many countries.
He added that UN representatives in Serbia are willing to help the government meet these obligations on the local level.
Labus and Osiatynski agreed that the Serbia-Montenegrin poverty reduction strategy is in accordance with the Millennium Goals and that its implementation will speed up the country’s association with the European Union.
