Sutanovac said that the Ground Forces Brigade had performed all its planned exercises for this year.
He said that investing primarily in people has been a good solution.
Sutanovac recalled that the modern telecommunication equipment for the army need is arriving, adding that unmanned aircraft have already been bought.
He said that Ground Forces’ members showed again that the Serbian Army is really prepared, adding that the there were 13 M84 tanks out of more than 20 combat vehicles, which make up only a portion of the brigade.
Serbian Army Chief of General Staff Zdravko Ponos said that the exercise was perfectly performed and that the members performed to their best abilities.
Ponos stressed that the Serbian Army, having a modest budget, showed what it is capable of, and pointed out that new investment in our military forces in the upcoming period are of major importance.
He said that this was the year of military field exercises and specified that there were almost 500 participants today.
Ponos recalled that in a recently performed exercise of the Second Ground Forces Brigade more than 5,500 people participated, which nobody else in the region has managed.
He also stressed that
the latest donation from the Italian Army comprising demining equipment is evidence of a very good bilateral cooperation between the two countries’ armies, and added that it is related to the fact that Italy is now being a contact-partner between Serbia and NATO.
Italian Chief of Army Staff General Fabrizio Castagnetti. also attended the military exercise. He said that the Italian donation is an important step for future joint activities.
