A:

Serbia, Italy to sign letter of cooperation

Belgrade, 16 October 2008

The Serbian Defence Ministry stated that Serbian and Italian army representatives are to sign a letter of cooperation concerning possible states of emergency and demining. The signing will take place tomorrow in Belgrade.

According to the statement, the letter of cooperation will be signed by Serbian Ground Forces Commander Mladen Cirkovic and Italian Chief of Army Staff General Fabrizio Castagnetti.

A Serbian Defence Ministry project for equipping teams for deactivating unexploded munitions, funded by the Italian Defence Ministry, will also be presented.

Speakers at the signing ceremony will include Italian Ambassador to Serbia Alessandro Merola and State Secretary at the Serbian Defence Ministry Zoran Jeftic.
