Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Sasa Dragin and Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Josef Graff signed today in Novi Sad a memorandum of understanding in order to intensify the cooperation between the two countries in this area.
Dragin said that the memorandum is of great importance for Serbia because it is a good base for the upcoming European integration, since 60% of the legislation, which is to be synchronised with the EU, is related to agriculture.
Serbia will take advantage of both the positive and negative experiences of Hungary in order to make its way towards the EU easier, stressed the Minister.
Graff pointed out that the two countries had a great cooperation in the areas of agriculture and scientific investigations in the previous period.
It is in Hungary’s interest that Serbia becomes a developed country and that the cooperation is continued when Serbia becomes the EU member, said Graff.
