In a statement to the Beta news agency Sutanovac said that the signing of the agreement opens new perspectives for the cooperation between Serbia and NATO, which did not exist before.
We will discuss a large number of programmes and projects, and they will certainly contribute to greater stability and security not only in Serbia, but also in the entire region, said the Minister and added that the process that Serbia started in November 2006, when it joined NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP), is completed by the signing of the information security agreement.
According to him, Serbia joined other PfP members, which gain benefits for their own army and country by the cooperation within the agreement.
He said that he talked with NATO officials about the Serbia and NATO’s cooperation within the PfP and the education of Serbian military officers at foreign military academies.
In the talks with NATO Secretary General Jaap De Hoof Scheffer and Ambassadors to NATO member states, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction over KFOR’s support to the forming of Kosovo security services.
Sutanovac said that he expressed belief that KFOR is still a factor of stability in Kosovo-Metohija and send a message that Serbia wants partner relations with KFOR.
