Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic signed today contracts on hospital design and consultancy services for reconstruction works on four clinical centres in Serbia – in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac.

Milosavljevic signed the contract for the Clinical Centre of Serbia in Belgrade with the company Studio Altieri, and contracts for clinical centres in Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac were signed with the company Steam.
The Minister said at the occasion that with the signing of these contracts today the first phase of reconstruction of the four clinical centres has been completed.
He said that by the end of 2009 project designs will be complete and an international tender for construction will be called, adding that reconstruction of the clinical centres will be finished in the first half of 2012.
He recalled that the reconstruction is being financed with a loan worth €200 million from the European Investment Bank. He explained that the goal is to develop top quality model clinical centres which will lead the entire health system reforms process.
Head of Operations of the European Commission's Delegation to Serbia Simon Ferenc said that the project will be implemented through a business plan which will be carried out by a special expert team entrusted with the task to ensure the most efficient use of funds.
He recalled that since 2000 the EU has supported the Serbian health system with funds worth €10 million, and said that the help will be continued.
