Serbian Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic inspected today construction works on the Kraljevo-Raska highway at the Usce-Biljanovac section, which are being financed by funds provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Mrkonjic said at the occasion that he met with Mayor of Novi Pazar Mirsad Djerlek, and also visited the company Novi Pazar Put where he was informed about the condition of the road network in the area.
He said that it is expected that on September 22 the Serbian government will make a decision about the proposal presented by the Austrian company Porr on changes to the concession contract on the construction of the Horgos-Pozega highway.
According to the proposal the Austrian company seeks to retain concessions for the Belgrade-Cacak section, the Serbian government to pay damages to the amount of €35 million and to terminate the concession contract under these terms, explained the Minister.
It is in Serbia’s interest to begin with the northern section of the highway so that loans may be secured, said Mrkonjic, adding that the Corridor 10 investment is worth €6 billion and must be completed within two or two and a half years because of Corridor 4 which will branch off to Romania and Bulgaria.
The Minister will also inspect today construction works on the ring road around Novi Pazar and the Sjenica-Novi Pazar highway.
