Milosavljevic becomes member of WHO Executive Board

The Serbian Ministry of Health stated that yesterday Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic has been appointed member of the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva.
The statement adds that the Executive Board is an important body which creates the WHO’s health policy and is a direct support to the WHO General Director Margaret Chen in the implementation of WHO programmes to improve global health.
Milosavljevic said he is honoured to have been elected to the WHO managing body and added that the Executive Board comprises 32 members, eight of whom are from Europe.
In the next three years I will be one of those eight members representing Europe in the Executive Board, because the WHO and its decisions at the global level are of great importance for the preservation and improvement of global health, said the Minister.
