Army graduation ceremony held

A graduation ceremony for officers of the latest class of the military academy was held today in the centre of Belgrade, which was attended by Serbian President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic.
Tadic presented traditional Serbian officers’ sabres to the top three newest 2nd lieutenants, and Defence Minister Dragan Sutanovac presented the newest members of the Serbian Army with guns.
The ceremony, which was held in front of the House of Parliament, with parents, family members and friends of officers present, was also attended by a large number of foreign military attaches in Belgrade, as well as delegations from the Ohio National Guards and the People’s Liberation Army of China.
Also present were Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic, Serbian parliament speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Serbian Army Chief of General Staff Major-General Zdravko Ponos, and prominent personalities.
Fighter jets flew overhead to mark the graduation ceremony of the 128th and 129th class of the military academy.
