Sutanovac, Bingde discuss military cooperation

Serbian Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac met today with China’s General Chen Bingde and expressed gratitude to China for its principled policy on the Kosovo issue and stressed that Serbia strongly supports the One-China policy.

According to a statement issued by the Defence Ministry, Sutanovac also talked with General Bingde about further military cooperation between the two countries.

It was said at the meeting that cooperation up to date is satisfactory, and General Bingde thanked the Defence Ministry for its help and the solidarity shown with the people of China in the wake of the earthquake which hit the country.

Cooperation in military education and military medicine, education of Chinese officers at the Serbian Military Academy and the specialisation of three doctors from China at the Military Medical Academy, as well as the training of Serbian Army personnel in China were mentioned as examples of the excellent cooperation between China and Serbia.

Support and help in the case of natural disasters was also discussed as a form of military cooperation between the two countries.

Sutanovac and Bingde said at the meeting that they are satisfied with the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and China which are based on the principles of respecting international law and mutual respect, concludes the statement.
