In his address to the press following the exercise, Tadic voiced hope that the bill on emergency situations will soon be adopted, which will help integrate all resources for such emergencies.
He stressed that the Ministry of Interior’s Protection and Rescue Sector will be reorganised into the Sector for Emergency Situations, which will enable better employment of the Ministry’s resources, as well as those of the Serbian Army, companies and various rescue services.
Tadic also said that good organisation is of crucial importance for success in emergency situations.

Dacic said that around 30,000 emergency situations occur in Serbia every year – fires, traffic accidents, floods and environmental incidents – and added that in the past two years around 700 people were killed this way and 2,000 were injured, whereas the damage to the property was estimated at RSD 2 billion.

The joint exercise was performed by members of the Protection and Rescue Sector at the Ministry of Interior, members of the Gendarmerie and police helicopter units.
Also present at the exercise was police director Milorad Veljovic.
