Serbian Minister for Human and Minority Rights Svetozar Ciplic said that the priority of the Ministry is to successfully complete Serbia’s presidency over the Decade of Roma Inclusion and implement the project that will improve the position of Roma and their inclusion in Serbian society.
Other priorities are the drafting of the laws on national councils and ban on discrimination, he said and expressed hope the government will send these regulations to parliament by the end of the year.
The Ministry will also work on building an efficient mechanism for protecting journalists and connecting local NGOs with foreign government and non-government organisations for human rights, he said.
He also announced that the first meeting with the national council of the Hungarian national minority will be held next week.
