Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated in Cairo that in today’s Arab League council meeting he will ask for support for Serbia's initiative before the UN General Assembly seeking the opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legality of Kosovo-Metohija's unilateral declaration of independence.

Jeremic said last night after meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Aboul Gheit that he will try to persuade a number of Arab countries that intended to recognise Kosovo not to do so and added that Egypt opposes the independence of the Serbian southern province.
