Jovicic at 31st round table of International Institute of Humanitarian Law

The Serbian Ministry of Defence stated today that Defence State Secretary Igor Jovicic is taking part in the 31st round table of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law to be held from September 4 to 6 in San Remo.
According to the statement issued by the Defence Ministry, Jovicic talked with President of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law Maurizio Moreno on implementation of humanitarian law in peace operations.
Jovicic and Moreno discussed perspectives on humanitarian law and human rights in peace operations and harmonisation of mechanisms and solutions which can improve the Serbian Army’s participation in UN peace operations.
The round table is important for an informal discussion and debate between political leaders, representatives of international organisations and military and legal experts on important changes and new challenges in the area of law in armed conflicts, concludes the statement.
