Austrian experience valuable in public administration reform

Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic held a meeting with an Austrian delegation led by State Secretary of Civil Service and Administrative Reform Andreas Schieder, as part of Serbia’s bilateral cooperation with Austria.
The Ministry says in a statement that the collocutors shared their experiences in public administration reform and discussed the possibility of Serbian civil servants participating in seminars organised by the Austrian Federal Academy of Public Administration.
Markovic also spoke about the necessity of setting up a national public administration school and invited his collocutor to cooperate, bearing in mind Austria’s positive experiences in this remit.
Schieder informed him of Austria’s success in developing e-administration and welcomed Serbian government efforts to reform legislature in this area and enable technical means for support to future legal solutions.
Markovic announced the Ministry’s activities which will considerably improve and modernise this sector in the next three–four years and stressed that Austria’s experience can be of value, adds the statement.
