Director of the Veterinary Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Zoran Micovic met today with representatives of the US embassy’s agriculture sector Darko Lojen and Dragan Dimitrijevic, and discussed continuation of cooperation in several projects in which the embassy has a very active role.
The Ministry recalls in the statement that within the SEED programme’s practical training segment, three young scientists from institutes in Pozarevac, Belgrade and Jagodina will go to the US to get hands-on experience at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University.
During the course of the second training programme, another three young scientists will go to the US to get practical experience.
The US embassy’s agriculture sector and the Veterinary Directorate are jointly engaged in issues of technical harmonisation, translations of laws and equalisation of documents between Serbia and the US, which will help Serbia get closer to the World Trade Organisation, thus enabling it to export meat and meat products to the US.
