Government unanimously condemns disruption of public peace and order

The Serbian government unanimously condemned today at its session the disruption of public peace and order during Tuesday’s protest in the centre of Belgrade and stated that the police reacted professionally and prevented the violence from escalating, in line with their authority.
The government approved the decision of the managing board of the state electricity provider “Elektroprivreda Srbije” made on July 28, 2008 on establishing prices of electricity for tariff buyers.
According to this decision, the average annual price of electricity for tariff buyers in Serbia will be RSD 4.51/kWh, an 8.4% increase on the current price. The new price of electricity will be applied of as of August 1, 2008. The government also adopted the Bill on annual balance sheet of the budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2007.
